Abstract

Praca stawia tezę, że sztuka towarzysząca kolejnym jubileuszom promulgowanym w latach 1300–1575, wpisana więc i zarazem współorganizująca ryt obchodów Lat Świętych pozostaje w wielorakich relacjach z otoczeniem społecznym, które stanowiło tło dla szeroko pojmowanych spektakli władzy papieskiej. Malarstwo, rzeźba, architektura wraz z myślą urbanistyczną oraz sztuką budowlaną, jak również jubileuszowe rękodzieło artystyczne, włączone zostały swymi funkcjami estetycznymi i kulturowymi w proces umacniania wspólnoty, zintegrowanej mocą duchową Kościoła, lecz rządzącej się jednocześnie świeckimi prawami ekonomii czy polityki. The thesis advances a claim that art which accompanied subsequent jubilees promulgated between 1300-1575, and therefore involved and co-organising the celebratory rites of Jubilee Years, remained in a multi-faceted relation with the social environment that constituted the background of broadly understood spectacles of papal power. Painting, sculpture, architecture alongside urban thought and the art of building as well as jubilee artistic handicraft were included through their aesthetic and cultural functions in the process of strengthening the community, integrated by the spiritual power of the Church, yet governed by lay laws of economy or politics at the same time.
