Abstract
The emodiversity hypothesis posits that the level of variation in emotions explains various aspects of health, better than positive or negative emotions alone. According to polyvagal theory, the efficiency of the vagus nerve is an important condition for health, enabling the regulation of emotions in social relationships. The purpose of this project was to demonstrate the relationship between the diverse emotional experience and cardiac vagal control under interpersonal stress. It was expected that diverse emotional experience would affect the activity of the vagus nerve, enabling better regulation of emotions when faced with an unfair situation, thus translating into better resolution of the situation and minimizing physiological responses that are a risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases.
