Abstract
Industrial development in the 25 years' period of People's Poland was closely
connected with the general economic and social rebuilding of the country. Nationalization
of great and medium industry opened sources of financing economic
development i.e.: sources of accumulation of means for industrialization of the
country.
Peculiar disproportion between man power and productive assets, that occurred
after the Second World War, made impossible an appropriate use of manpower
resources. In the years 1946 - 1969 notable investment outlays that amounted to 880
million zloties in the prices for the year 1961 were provided for industry. In the
process of industrialization deep social and class changes should be noticed besides
strictly economic effects. They include first of all the growth of industrial worker
class whose share in the total population structure outnumbers economically active
farmers and the growth of the number of educated people and their rapprochement
with the working-class, which is very essential. All the processes were accompanied
simultaneously with a constant increase in qualifications of the population groups,
a growing similarity in their way of living and with the coalescing of whole social
groups.
