Abstract
Celem artykułu jest rekonstrukcja i porównanie wybranych elementów polskie- go i czeskiego medialnego obrazu świata. Bazę materiałową stanowić będą teksty prasowe pochodzące z polskich i czeskich dzienników. Posłużą one do prezentacji wzajemnych relacji pomiędzy kulturowo uwarunkowanymi wzorami poznawania i interpretowania zdarzeń, pokazania ich roli w komunikacji oraz stopnia, w jakim wpływają na ostateczny kształt tekstu. Artykuł podzielony jest na trzy części dotyczące tego kto pisze, co pisze i jak pisze w polskich gazetach o Republice Czeskiej oraz w czeskich gazetach o Polsce.

Abstract (What do Czechs Find Out About Poles and Poles About Czechs?). The aim of this article is to reconstruct and compare some elements of two pictures of the world which appear in Polish and Czech mass media. The analysis is based on selected press news from Polish and Czech dailies. They show a mutual relationship between cultural models of cognition and the interpretation of facts, its role in communication and the de- gree of influence on the final version of the text. The article is divided into three parts treating of author-related issues and the content as well as the form of the texts concerning Czech Republic found in Polish dailies and about Poland in Czech newspapers.
