Abstract

The paper discusses the reception of Gnosticism among Polish romantic poets with specific reference to Zygmunt Krasiński (1812-1859). It analyses the esoteric/gnostic content of selected fragments of “The Unfinished Poem”. It should be remembered that Krasiński had never declared himself a gnostic. Thanks to this analysis, it will be possible to determine the role of esoteric/gnostic conceptual categories in the discussed work.
