Abstract
The dissertation consists of a series of 7 scientific papers illustrating how the application of high-pressure conditions can induce and accelerate chemical reactions that lead to the formation of new materials. The examples of reactions in the organic, inorganic, as well as in hybrid organic-inorganic systems at high-pressure indicate that these conditions can overcome some of the most common problems traditionally associated with solution-based-synthesis methods, such as the formation of by-products and consumption of significant amounts of energy. Moreover, the high yield of the described reactions allowed us to obtain materials in the form of single crystals, which does not require additional purification.
