Abstract

The article deals with wood supplies in Poland, wood and cellulose paper production, and foreign turnover for these articles. On data from 1949 -1967 the equation was calculated for production trends, foreign turnover and wood consumption as well as end products of wood and cellulose paper. These calculations were used in prognosis of potential consumption of these articles and the possibility of it being covered by domestic production. From the results it is possible to forsee that in 1975 the deficit in wood in Poland will amount to 1,3 mln. m8 and in 1980 — 1,8 mln. m3 wood stock. This deficit can be considerably reduced by better utilization of wood stocks, by substituting wood by other products e. g. in packing and above all by economizing in the use of wood.
