Abstract

The author of this paper describes the provisional results and research projects of the Ministry of Labour, Wages and Social Welfare in Poland. Those researches have been performed by the Institut of Labour operating under the auspices of the above mentioned Ministry. One from the most crucial problems studied in that Institut referrs to the system improvement of social payments for the benefit of children and numerous families being badly off. The first stage of researches was completed on April 1973 Symposium, where the legal and social maesures of motherhood and family protection have 'been discuseed. The model of final solutions in the social field and the linking of those solutions with the actual needs of society through the partial and successive resolutions have been put forward. Attention has been paid to the demographic issues as well as to the system of social benefits, that ought to enable the fulfilment of mothers function to all economically active women. The opinions were shared regarding the need and efficiency of population policy as an instrument of the control of demographic processes. Social benefits for the students families as well as for those ones having disabled children have also been the subject of discussion and analysis.
