Abstract

Not only listening to, but also hearing, what a speaker intends to say is one of the basic conditions of an effective act of communication. However, we are stereotypically programmed to hear ourselves and other people as thinking in a similar way. The article presents theoretical reflections and practical observations related to the possibilities of changing this pattern.
