Abstract

Tom IV Źródeł do dziejów Uniwersytetu m. Adama Mickiewicza obejmuje protokoły posiedzeń Senatu Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego (UP) z pierwszych lat działalności Uczelni po II wojnie światowej (1945–1956), czyli z okresu sprawowania władzy rektorskiej przez Profesorów: Stefana Tytusa Dąbrowskiego, Stefana Błachowskiego, Kazimierza Ajdukiewicza oraz Jerzego Suszko. Był to czas wydzielenia z UP niektórych wydziałów i powstania na ich bazie nowych poznańskich uczelni oraz nadania Uniwersytetowi nowej nazwy – Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w listopadzie 1955 roku. Materiały archiwalne zawarte w niniejszym tomie ilustrują zachowany w aktach posiedzeń Senatu UP okres odbudowy Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego po II wojnie światowej oraz realizację działalności naukowej i dydaktycznej Uczelni w trudnym okresie transformacji ustrojowej, gospodarczej i politycznej w pierwszych latach PRL. Tom IV protokołów posiedzeń Senatu UP z lat 1945–1956 jest też ostatnim tomem ukazującym działalność uczelni pod nazwą Uniwersytet Poznański i stanowi uzupełnienie trzech tomów Źródeł z pierwszych lat działalności Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego, czyli z lat 1919–1939, wydanych w latach 2019–2021 w ramach wydawnictwa jubileuszowego. Celem publikacji jest nie tylko ukazanie dziejów Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego w świetle źródeł archiwalnych, lecz również upowszechnienie i zabezpieczenie najstarszych archiwaliów do dziejów UP dla przyszłych badań nad historią UAM oraz nad dziejami innych uczelni poznańskich powstałych po II wojnie światowej na bazie wydziałów UP, takich jak: Uniwersytet Medyczny, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy i Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego.

Volume IV of the Sources for the History of Adam Mickiewicz University includes the minutes of the meetings of the Senate of the University of Poznań (UP) from the first years of the University's activity after World War II (1945-1956), i.e. from the period of the rectorship of the following professors: Stefan Tytus Dąbrowski, Stefan Błachowski, Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz and Jerzy Suszko. This was the time when some faculties were separated off from University of Poznań with new Poznań universities being established on their basis. The University of Poznań was given a new name - Adam Mickiewicz University - in November 1955. The archival materials contained in this volume illustrate this period, as preserved in the records of the UP Senate meetings, of the reconstruction of the University of Poznań after World War II, and also the scientific and teaching activities performed at the University during the difficult period of political, economic and political transformation in the first years of the Polish People's Republic. Volume IV of the minutes of the UP Senate meetings from 1945-1956 is also the last volume showing the activities under the name of University of Poznań, and complements the three volumes of Sources from the first years of the University of Poznań, i.e. from 1919–1939, published in 2019–2021 as part of the jubilee publication. The purpose of this publication is not only to show the history of the University of Poznań in the light of archival sources, but also to disseminate and secure the oldest archival materials for the history of UP for future research into the history of AMU and the history of Poznań’s other universities established after World War II on the basis of UP departments, such as the University of Medical Sciences, the University of Life Sciences and the University of Physical Education.
