Biblioteka Krajowa w Poznaniu 1894–1902

Abstract

Liczący 115 lat tekst prezentuje okoliczności powstania i pierwsze lata działalności niemieckiej Biblioteki Krajowej (Landesbibliothek) w Poznaniu, której księgozbiór stał się w 1902 roku istotną częścią Biblioteki im. Cesarza Wilhelma (Kaiser-Wilhelm-Bibliothek). Dziś jest to fragment zbiorów Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Poznaniu.The present evaluative analysis of the text under scrutiny, in Polish translation and written 115 years ago, presents the circumstances surrounding the foundation of the German regional library (Landesbibliothek) in Poznań and examines the first years of its operation. Subsequently, the book collection of this library became a significant part of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Bibliothek established in 1902. The book collection is currently incorporated within the University Library’s extensive book collections. The text, penned by B. Wenzel, describes its “pre-history”.
