Parias bibliotecznych półek. O tym, jak komiks torował sobie drogę do książnic na świecie i w Polsce

Abstract

W artykule poruszono kilka zagadnień. Odniesiono się do problemu braku i obecności komiksu oraz powieści graficznej w polskich bibliotekach, a także ukazano, jak ta sytuacja wygląda w przykładowych placówkach w Stanach Zjednoczonych, Belgii i innych krajach. Omówiono także zainteresowanie komiksem wśród bibliotekarzy amerykańskich i polskich. Przywołano także problem cenzury w Polsce i Stanach Zjednoczonych. W zakończeniu nawiązano do zagadnień i problemów związanych z komiksem, które wymagają nowego opracowania i przebadania pod kątem bibliologii i bibliotekoznawstwa.

The article raises several issues. First, it relates to the problem of the lack and presence of comics and graphic novels in Polish libraries as well as the relevant situation of comic libraries in the United States, Belgium and some other countries. It discusses also comics-oriented relationship of the librarians in the United States in comparison to the relevant state in Poland. The problem of censorship in Poland and USA has been also mentioned. The issues and problems of comics in Polish libraries, which should be researched and investigated in the close future have been emphasized as the conclusion.
