Statystyczna analiza zużycia i zapotrzebowania na wodę komunalną

Abstract

In the paper ideas and criteria of classification concerning an analysis of consumption of municipal water (tap water) by consumers were presented and the basic and auxiliary determinants of the consumption were specified. Based on the data provided by the Central Statistical Office and with help of tables and diagrams an analysis of the structure and dynamics of water consumption and equipment of town groups in Poland with water supply and sewage system in the period of 1955 - 1970 was made. Special attention was given to water consumption in households and an attempt was made to establish interrelation between water consumption and chosen variables: population, living space, dwelling units, gas consumption. The calculated coefficient of multiple correlation was significant; it made possible to establish an equation of regression of several variables. Development of a region is determined to a considerable degree by production and consumption of municipal water; therefore an estimation of future consumption of water is an important matter. Actual consumption differs from to-day's standards and it is indispensable to work out suitable prognosis methods or to adapt methods used abroad. In the paper mathematical and statistical methods of forecasting consumption were discussed while the necessity of a verification of those methods was emphasized.
