Człowiek jako aktor na scenie życia. Teorie G.H. Meada i E. Goffmana a narracyjne gry fabularne

Abstract

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wykazanie, iż teoria interakcjonizmu symbolicznego George’a Herberta Meada oraz teoria perspektywy dramaturgicznej Ervinga Goffmana mogą znaleźć zastosowanie w analizie narracyjnych gier fabularnych (ang. role-playing games) poprzez wspólne dla tych teorii koncepcje przyjmowania ról społecznych w interakcjach międzyludzkich. Po zestawieniu zrębów obu teorii ze zjawiskiem narracyjnych gier fabularnych autorzy wskazują na takie cechy tych ostatnich, które mogłyby uczynić z nich narzędzie służące do dalszego rozwijania ludzkiej samoświadomości oraz przygotowania człowieka do odgrywania różnych ról społecznych.The aim of the article is to demonstrate that George Herbert Mead’s symbolic interactionism theory and Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective theory may find applications in the analysis of narrative (table-top) role-playing games through the concept of role-taking in social human interactions common to both theories. After putting the foundations of both theories next to the phenomenon of role-playing games, the authors point to certain qualities of the latter – namely, the qualities which could make RPG a useful tool for the further development of human self-consciousness and for preparing people for the enactment of different social roles.
