Abstract
The paper presents the Dual-Cycle Model of Identity Formation, a theory formulated in recent years by researchers from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, as well as a questionnaire created to verify the assumptions of this theory – the Dimensions of Identity Development Scale (DIDS). The authors make an overview of results of studies carried out using DIDS and describe the development process of the questionnaire itself. Since DIDS is currently being adapted for application in Poland, reports of the progress of the adaptation process and ratings of the psychometric value of this questionnaire are presented as well.

Artykuł prezentuje sformułowaną w ostatnich latach przez badaczy z Uniwersytetu Katolickiego w Leuven w Belgii teorię Podwójnego Cyklu Formowania się Tożsamości (Dual-Cycle Model of Identity Formation) oraz narzędzie stworzone w celu weryfikacji założeń tej koncepcji – Skalę Wymiarów Rozwoju Tożsamości (Dimensions of Identity Development Scale; DIDS). Dokonano przeglądu wyników badań zrealizowanych z zastosowaniem skali DIDS oraz zaprezentowano proces powstania samego narzędzia. Skala DIDS jest aktualnie adaptowana do polskich warunków. Przedstawiono doniesienia na temat dotychczasowego przebiegu procesu adaptacji oraz wskaźniki wartości psychometrycznej narzędzia.
